NASA map sees Earth's trees in a new light

Image
Hey, Folks! [TIP of the Week]  A NASA science team has created an accurate, high resolution map of the height of Earth's forests. The map will help scientists better understand the role forests play in climate change and how their heights influence wildlife habitats within them, while also helping them quantify the carbon stored in Earth's vegetation. First Orbit - The Movie

Image
Hey, Folks! Yuri Gagarin was a Soviet cosmonaut. He was the first human being to travel into outer space  and to orbit the Earth making a 108 minute orbital flight in the Vostok 1 spacecraft, on April 12 1961, during the Space Race. Speaking of that, the Space Race was an epic competition between the Soviet Union and the United States for supremacy in space exploration during the Cold War. As a part of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight into space, the director Christopher Riley made a recreation of that outstanding moment . The film combines a new video footage taken from the International Space Station (ISS) with Gagarin's original mission audio and a new musical score by Philip Sheppard. All things considered, I hope you enjoy it! "Orbiting Earth in the spaceship,  I saw how beautiful our planet is.  People, let us preserve and increase this beauty, not destroy it" ...

DraftSight, an alternative to AutoCAD

Hey, Folks! DrafSight is an alternative to AutoCAD. It runs on Linux and provides almost all of the features you would expect from a CAD software. It works with .dwg files , .dwf files, and others, so there's compatibility. Just a simple registration is required , which is also free.   Check it out: Dassalt Systèmes .
